Our non-abrasive porcelain ceramic tumbling media is perfect for protecting and cushioning fragile stones while tumbling. Also, use to fill your barrel to the recommended level, carry grit & polish, improve tumbling action and quiet the tumbling process. Recommended over plastic filler media for vibratory tumblers. Since porcelain ceramic rinses clean of grit, you can use the same batch of ceramic through all the stages. Just rinse off between stages, along with the rocks. This large 1.5 lb. bag allows plenty of cylinders for multiple tumbler loads. Do not use fresh cylinders when polish tumbling in Stages 3 and 4. Run the cylinders in the tumbler with water for a few days to smooth off the edges. Preferably, use the fresh cylinders as fill for Stages 1 & 2 so they will have lost their edges by Stage 3. Most tumbling media comes packaged in cheap plastic bags that easily tear and spill. We use a thick, re-sealable bag that won't break and cause a mess. If you have extra cylinders - just zip up the bag and use it for a later project. Polly Plastics sells premium porcelain ceramic. 100% satisfaction guaranteed. WARNING: Choking Hazard-small parts. Not for children under 3 years.

We can't get this in the UK
Been using plastic beads as a filler in my tumbler for stones, but wanted to change due to environmental considerations. Only thing to do was import the ceramic media, cost double the price, but very pleased with them. They are an excellent filler for the polish stage. The delivery was very quick too.

I’m new at rock polishing. I’ve been reading everything I can find on the hobby. Your description of the ceramic pellets was spot on. I put my first batch of rocks back in the tumbler with the ceramic pellets. They came out a lot better. I will be ordering my polishing items from you. Thank you.

Hey, Rock Hounds - this is what you need!
I recently began adding the ceramic media from Polly Plastics to my tumbling/polishing process. Wow - it has made a world of difference! Smoother, shinier, better quality results. What could be more simple: just add the media to the rocks and grit and let 'er tumble! So easy to separate the ceramic pellets from the stones afterward and save for the next tumble. Wish I had used these pellets from the very beginning of my rock tumbling hobby. Great seller and great price - highly recommended!

Wouldn't Tumble Without Them
Pros:1) They work. Let's be honest, all we care about is whether or not these little pellets actually work. They do. Not only do they cushion rocks (thus avoiding the ever-discouraging bruises on cleaning day), but they actually help improve the tumbling process. Simply put, they make sure grit gets to all those hard-to-reach places.2) They're reusable. And they last a LONG time. I've reused the same pellets for my course grit phase 4-5 times now and they still look the same as after their first tumble. Easy to clean and separate, they make like a lot easier.Cons:1) You'll need more than you think. If you really want them to help, you'll want your rocks packed pretty tightly with these pellets. Meaning? You'll probably be using more than anticipated. Again, it's well worth it--and the pellets are reusable, so you'll get your money back in usage. Still, I'd recommend getting at least one bag per grit phase (so four bags total...I know, a lot...but it's worth it.)

Great filler! Cleans easily
I used this as filler media to tumble larimar (yes! larimar!) with excellent results. The larimar I tumbled using 4 sizes of grit, finishing off with hand burnishing methods to get a mirror shine. Larimar is very soft and can shatter easily, using this media prevented any of them from breaking during a 4-week run. Cleans easily, I've been using this media for about 2 months straight with 9 changes of media and rinsing, and they're still going strong. Not one has broken.

Totally deadened the sound in my tumbler and enhanced the results. Very happy.
These made a huge difference in the noise coming from my tumbler. It also seems like it helped the quality of the polishing quite a bit. Very happy so far.

Good and bad
The media did a great job minimizing the tumbling noise, and on most rocks, it did just fine during the tumbling (polishing stage). I bought the media to fill the space left from the rock erosion on the 3 previous tumbling cycles so rock breakage would not occur, however there were a few rocks that came out looking as if they had not been through the 3 previous cycles, they were actually a lot rougher than when they went in, and the only difference was the ceramic media, so it had to be the cause.

Exactly as described
Arrived earlier than anticipated! Cut down about one day in my final tumbling phase, which is a good thing for me.

Yes, I recommend
I love these pellets! I got tired of my smaller rocks tumbling into slivers but I still needed smaller stones to cause friction and these pellets work great and they are reusable also. I waited to review until my first batch was finished and I can honestly say that I am very pleased with the results.

Great filler for a rock tumbler
This is my favorite type of media for my rotary rock tumbler. It fills in nicely and is much easier to separate out and get ready for re-use than the plastic pellets. It serves it's purpose very nicely. I keep a decent amount of the small and the large available.

Buy these for rock tumbling!
Hold up in the rock tumbler. Have not fallen apart with any of the processes of the tumbler. Purchase these bc they cut down on time it takes to smooth out the rocks.

The product itself is probably fine. I have not had good luck at all using these in a rock tumbler. Allegedly you are supposed to be able to clean the grit off these and use the same ones for each step in the tumbling process, but that does not seem to be the case.
