Best hatchet they make.
This will be my third one of these i have owned. The first i lost, the second was stolen and now im waiting on this one to get here. Amazon is the only place i can find them. It is my go-to tool. I use them for everything. If i am doing something whether its outdoors or around the house, this thing is never far away. They are tough as nails, and if i could keep them from walking off, they would last a lifetime and be passed to my kids. I highly recommend this to anyone needing a good sturdy hatchet, or hammer. The waffle head hammer on this doesnt ring like some do and doesnt wear out after a month. I hope this helps someone make a decision. If you need a good all around hatchet, buy this one. It truly is the best one i have ever had.

Nice
Only used it for one camping trip so far, but it worked great! I hope it holds up long term. Nice to have something to hammer in tent stakes as well.

This thing is a beast took me about 10 min to have it plenty sharp and the thin profile makes it a sweet chopper and carver I haven't done any splitting yet but I think it will be fine the long handle gives a nice purchase but it's a little long for intracit carving but for splitting away a piece that's been saw cut is no problem really nice hatchet bought this for the woods and really impressed! Oh they have kydex blade covers on EBay for these also

Forging is messed up - axe face tweaked to one side... :-(
Axe face is not straight - it is forged incorrectly - if you look at it from the top of the handle - the blade "arcs" to left. Noticed it today when I was comparing axe blade side by side with another riggers axe I own (vaughn) and a carpenters hatchet (hardcore hammers).Unfortunately too late to return it.This item is now made in taiwan (not china) - which is not necessarily a bad thing. Much better machining and tooling infrastructure and quality over mainland china. But, I am a bit shocked by the lack of quality control and the poor manufacturing of this item. Suggest buying U.S. made Vaughn as alternative.

head and shaft
blade is balanced and sturdy but the wood shaft is already starting to chip and show wear. I would probably get a fiber shaft in the future.

This is an excellent tool. I use it as a Carpenter and rough 'Framer'. It is a little heavy for a camp hatchet but would work. It is very strong and for hammering nails it is very good. It feels very nice in the hand and has a great balance.

Four Stars
Great hammer but comes apart too easily. Neck breaks.
