.com In this direct-to-video sequel to Pokémon: The First Movie, Ash, Misty, and Brock continue exploring the Johto region, then have to rescue Pikachu after Jessie and James of Team Rocket kidnap him. The search leads them to the hidden plateau where the redoubtable Mewtwo has established a haven for the cloned Pokémon from the previous film. The evil Giovanni is plotting to recapture Mewtwo and renew his efforts to create an army of bio-engineered Pokémon. Aided by the reluctant Meowth, Ash and his friends defeat Giovanni and his henchman in a battle that is less over the top than the original feature but more intense than the program's usual adventures and lessons in sportsmanship. The result is a mildly amusing, not particularly involving film. Mewtwo's angry brooding and some of the action may be too scary for very small children. Unrated; suitable for ages 6 and up. --Charles Solomon

great dvd
Love watching Pokémon. Never saw this movie before. Watched it and everything came out great. Would buy it again if this disc brakes down (if a copy was still available).

This is absolutely amazing, even for Pokemon. A must-see!
Even at the age of 21, I admit that Pokemon, both the game and anime, are a secret pleasure of mine. I never got hooked until about a year ago, when I finally got tired of hearing pokemon this and pokemon that and decided to see what it was all about. I got a gameboy color and a game and rented the first movie. The rest is history. For pokemon, this story is much darker in nature than usual. It hasn't had this tone of storyline since Mewtwo first appeared. Mewtwo is no longer a desperately angry pokemon bent on vengence, for Ash opened his heart and showd him something he had never seen before. Now all he wants for himself and his fellow clones is to live in peace, far away from humanity, a secluded corner on a world that to Mewtwo, he feels he does not even belong on.However, Giovanni's desire to control Mewtwo never faded. He's tracked down Mewtwo via satellite and sets up a trap to lure Mewtwo back into his clutches. Unfortunately for him, Ash and company are also around. It all comes down to the fate of Mewtwo being soley in Ash's hands.....can he make it? Can Mewtwo ever learn if he does belong to this world....or will he always think himself an outcast? The DVD also comes with a great Bonus Feature--the *uncut* version of Mewtwo's Origin. Folks, there's much more to the early days of Mewtwo's development than they ever showed us before. It involves a girl named Amber (I think she was named Ai in the original), a Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur--all clones. That's all I'll say, but the uncut version is also pretty dark in nature. I cried the first time I saw it.Get this and enjoy it! Sit down, relax! There might not be as much action as in most movies, but trust me, this is definetly worth the expense!!!

Mewtwo Returns!
This is one of my most favorite of Pokemon movies, along with Lucario and The Mystery of Mew and Mewtwo Strikes Back.Granted it's not as long as other Pokemon movies and doesn't have much great CGI, but it's still a good movie. In the story, Mewtwo has found refuge for him and his fellow clone pokemon. Having been softened by Ash's sacrifice in the last movie, Mewtwo has come to care a lot for the other clones, even willing to sacrifice himself in order to keep them safe later in the movie. But he and his fellow clones are not safe, for the evil Team Rocket leader Giovanni has tracked them down to their refuge and comes to reclaim Mewtwo. But fortunately for the clones, Ash, Brock, Misty, Team Rocket members Jesse, James, and Meowth, and a couple of scientists come to help save the day.I like this movie for a few reasons. One, Mewtwo is shown to be caring about the welfare of his fellow clones. Two, Mewtwo is voiced by Dan Green, who makes Mewtwo sound awesome! And three, instead of fighting against Mewtwo, Ash helps him protect the clones and even saves Mewtwo's life. All in all, it's a good and touching movie for anyone who is a fan of Mewtwo.

Very Happy
There was some slight foxing on the soft sides of the DVD case but that was how it was described.Considering the age of the movie I was fine with a non mint case, but the disk was well worth it. Like new condition not a scratch on it. Completely satisfied with my purchase and would definitely buy from again.
