Overall this an excellent webcam for the £40 range. The quality is 1080p at 30fps putting it far above any standard laptop webcam so will be a great improvement if that is your current camera. The build quality is good and it worked instantly when I plugged it in.However it has two small issues, 1: when the camera is being used it shines a very bright red LED, so bright if you have anything about 10 inches away from something. e.g. your face, it will be bathed in red light. Plus it can be very distracting. However this can be quickly fixed by putting a single layer of electrical tape over the light, meaning the problems are fixed while still leaving the light visible enough so you'll notice if it comes on when you aren't expecting it to.2: in more well environment, such as if you have a white light pointed above you to increase visibility on camera some white lines can appear around you, e.g. between the outline of your shoulders and the background wall. However this doesn't occur in more warmly lit environments and the light pick-up on the camera is good enough that you don't need studio lights or LED panels in order to be clearly visible on the camera.I can't however comment on the quality of the inbuilt microphone as I use a separate clip on mic for that, so even if that does prove an issue for you alternatives are not expensive.So in summary, an excellent webcam for the majority of people who'll need one. Good value for money and build quality. Just put tape over the light and if you're planning to film in very well lit locations you may want a camcorder instead thats more suited to more well lit filming.

I have never set up a webcam before, as i have just used the built-in laptop camera, but since working from home now, doing more and more video meetings, and using a bigger primary screen, connected to the laptop, i thought it would be nice to have something i can put on the primary screen (so people weren't looking at the side of my face), and with a better quality picture. This is fab, I was a bit nervous about the initial set up, but it was literally plug and play - just needed to amend the camera settings on the computer, and it was listed there as an option, automatically. So, very easy indeed! Everyone comments on the picture quality, so it's doing the job as far as I am concerned. The only thing worth noting is, that i have played about with switching between the mic on the webcam and the mic on the laptop, and people say i'm clearer using the laptop, so i don't use the mic on the webcam often now.

Worked fine straight out of the box on Win 7 PC for Zoom and MS Teams. No faffing with drivers or setup. I quite liked the manual focus as you can get it exactly right as long as you are not moving around. Regrettably had to pay a premium price as had to buy at the start of the CV-19 pandemic when all webcams were scarce. Certainly better than an SD or 720p camera but there are better ones available now for not a lot more than the price I paid. (£41 inc post). I would expect the price to drop once the pandemic looses momentum and people are kitted out.

be aware that this has a very wide angle of view distorting the objects behind. It would be better if you could zoom in.

It doesn't 'clamp' onto the monitor too well, but otherwise a great buy with good picture definition

Not the cheapest but a good product. Would recommend.
