I won't be able to accidentally melt it, which is why I purchased silicon. However, the tines are too short to easily grab pasta.

Don't do it
Dog chewed up the first one, made her happy, me not so much. Second one Broke in half after maybe two washes/uses. Poor quality. My noodles weren't that heavy. Replaced with metal option from Walmart. Incidentally, Not a good dog chew either.

Handles heat, an collects noodles. What more can you ask for.
I leave my spoons in the pan all the time, so it being able to handle a hot pan is very important.This fits the bill well.
