The Saggy Baggy Elephant (Little Golden Book)

Fun for kids
This is a fun story about an elephant. I don't really know much about it as the target audience is quite a lot younger than me. I bought it as a baby shower gift when my next door neighbor had her first child. Judging by the look on his face when he sees the book I'm figuring it's a good one. I don't know how old he was when she started reading it to him but it sounds like it's one he always enjoyed.

Great Book! Great Buy!
This book and The Pokey Little Puppy were my two favorite books when I was a little kid. I bought them both for my twin granddaughters that are soon to be born. I know they will love the stories as much as I did.

A Classic
Was my favorite when I was little. Mom said I wanted to hear it over & over & over again. I'm 67 and gifting to great-grands now.

Comforting
A nice comforting story about a little elephant finding his people who understand him in the end.

Our family's go-to storybook
More than 60 years ago, The Saggy, Baggy Elephant was a favorite storybook for my siblings and I. A plus was our mother loved to read it aloud to us, and could always be tricked into reading one more story at bedtime if the Saggy, Baggy Elephant was the story request. So, for old times' sake, my siblings and I stocked our children's storybook shelve with a copy of the lovely Little Golden Book, and our children got copies for their children. This latest copy I bought for my sister whose first grandbaby is due next month. It's a beloved story with wonderful art, action and pictures that keep a little one involved, actually, a bit of a lesson thrown in. It's a quick read for a tired mama, and a fun listen for a little one.

Stop getting cheap when creating a child's book!
I grew up with this book and decided to purchase it for my granddaughter's baby shower. I was disappointed at the quality of the binding of the book which doesn't allow it to be folded back so you can share the pictures easily with the child you are reading it to. I don't know why today everything you buy is much less quality then when I was growing up. Just for a few pennies! Book publishers go for quality and charge a few pennies more.

Je suis très déçu, ce livre ressemble à une reliure de mauvaises photocopies faites maison!Impossible d'offrir ça à un enfantDélai et livraison impeccable.

Nice illustrations
Good book printed on quality paper. Not sure if the message is the best--it seems to be saying that if someone makes fun of you, you should go find your friends and beat him up--but the illustrations are nice.

Classic story with a timeless message.
My mother must have bought a copy about the time it was published in 1947: it was a favourite of my early childhood. Have just sent a copy to a friend's 2 year old granddaughter. Hope she likes it as much as I did at her age.
