It works!
I have two Yorkshire terriers that will bark at anything that moves or makes a sound. I have a fenced in back yard but they constantly bark at the neighbors and I'm constantly having to bring them indoor so the neighbors can have some peace and quiet. I know if it were reversed, I would hate a dog constantly barking at me. I didn't want to get the collars that make sound because it would make them scared and they would hide and be afraid to move and I'm not doing that to them because it changes their entire personality. I could try to train them not to bark but my health doesn't allow me to constantly be on it to teach them, if it is even possible to train yorkies not to bark, it's their nature. So I found this alternative so I bought one to try and if it didn't work I'd return it. I wanted to try it out in the house first, to see if it really worked, and it did! As soon as they started barking they stopped and I thought it was a miracle. And the best part is I didn't hear a thing. But after a while one of my dogs became very afraid and coward in a corner afraid to move so I decided to take it outside. I tied it to our fence where they love to run to barking when my neighbors little kids are out playing and they immediately stopped barking and came back to the house! It only goes 50 feet so my smart dogs figured out where they can go and bark without being interrupted so I just bought two more to take care of that problem. Yes they still bark in the house but I have a clicker that seems to help control some of it. I just click it when they start barking and it snaps them out of their barking trance. I've only had this a few days and already I'm very impressed and am hoping to have a bark free-ish summer.

Item Stopped Working **UPDATE**
*UPDATE* I have downgraded this item to ONE star and would give zero stars if I could. After installing another round of brand new batteries, this thing still does not work. I had left feedback for the seller, but it was ignored by them. Amazon, thankfully, did the right thing by me and refunded my money. I strongly recommend AGAINST buying this worthless piece of cheap plastic, as your wallet will be lighter by $35 and you will be stuck with this thing. It doesn’t work! And the seller did nothing to make this right. Save your hard-earned money. I’m going to keep looking for something that might work.I really wanted this to be a good solution for us, as we have a shepherd who is a barker. For the first week and a half, it worked well. It deterred his barking. I am giving this only a 2 star review because it has a short somewhere (it flips back and forth from red to green and doesn't work anymore.) and we've only had it for a month. We installed brand new batteries and that did not work. I have left feedback for the seller, as the return time is past Amazon's window. I would like to think I simply received a defective one, and that it is not the norm, but I hope to hear back from the seller on this. Again, when it was working, it worked fine. Now it has stopped working, and I'm out $34.00. I hope that someone will make this right and send us a new one.

Works fine... for about a month
I purchased this item to allow my dogs to enjoy a large fenced yard without getting complaints about barking from the neighbors.I opened the box and curiously tested it inside the house near my two dogs. The larger of the two dogs immediately became distraught while the smaller one continued to bark, setting off the system (acknowledged by the red light).I placed it outside (hanging from a tree branch) and after a few confused barks the larger dog either avoided the back portion of the yard or ran around quietly. The smaller dog continued to bark seemingly the same amount. And since it didn't cover the whole yard I was interested in purchasing 2 more.Unfortunately, it lasted 1 month. I only noticed it had stopped working after the larger dog began excessively barking a neigbor. The green light indicator that stays on all the time was no longer on and there was no longer a red light flashing every time they barked. For context, I do live in a rainy climate so that may be a factor as to why it stopped working. Although, it does say it's made for outdoor use.

It works sort of
This did work - In a way not expected. My neurotic dog realized this was the thing responsible for the ear pain/discomfort he experienced when barking, although I am pretty sure he did not realize his barking caused it. So whenever he sees the "white bird house" he vacates that area. It was most effective when I placed it on top of a 5 gallon white bucket and placed it about 20 feet from the front gate. My older yorkie figured out that the signal only travels in one direction, so she sat right behind the bucket and continued to bark, but her bark is soft and does not carry, while the other dog's bark is shrill and loud. If I have problems with barking all I have to do is show the dog the white bird house and put it in the area where he is barking and he just moves somewhere else. I live on about 2 acres. Lots of room to move. So this gadget was somewhat helpful.

My nights are quiet again! My neighbor has 2 ...
My nights are quiet again! My neighbor has 2 large dogs that bark at any sound, or no sound at all. Been driving me crazy for years. I gave this thing a shot since my only other option was to give the dogs a shot, or 2... 3 maybe. I hung this in a tree branch that hangs over the block wall between us and now I have peace at last. When the dogs do bark it will only be once or twice and that's it. The battery has lasted several weeks so far on the first setting. If you're a dog owner with a barky dog, do your neighbors a favor and get several of these. They will thank you forever.

Some dogs become immune to the device
Update: one of my dogs has become kindof immune to this. Which makes it unusable because it effects my other two dogs. I am not trying to only ise it when absolutly necessary so he doesn’t get too use to it so we will see if that helps. This works great so far!! I have had it up for about a week. The dogs do learn that if they bark quietly then they don’t hear the noise but I don’t mind the quiet barks anyway. Hopefully it keeps working. I even did a test with my little yorkie indoors and one bark and she was done. This one says not recommended for indoors so I need to find one for her.
