I had high hopes for this converter, it is easy to install and straightforward to suck up the ink.I thought I would help reduce plastic waste but I'm afraid this will be going in the bin.It leaks horribly, it also turned my fine nib Allure into a sponge, gone were the beautifully crafted lines and hello to the splurge of ink that turned my handwriting into nothing more than a finger painting.Shame really, but I'm going back to cartridges.EDIT: I decided to flush the pen out and used a cartridge for a day, then I thought I'll give this another chance, I didn't fill it so much and with baited breath I once more started to write...this time the ink flowed at a better pace and no longer felt I would be finger painting! A much better result, so I have upgraded my review and am more than happy with this. I can once again reduce my plastic waste and now don't need to frantically scrub my fingers! I'll obviously revise this if anything changes but as of now I do recommend this!

Reviewed April 2022:Bought this for a pen I'd previously reviewed, as I wanted to sopt using plastic cartridges because of plastic waste and also I wanted to use this pen with red ink.Easy to fit, it just 'pushes home', you can feel when its in place. Filling is easy, and now I have exactly what I need.Should have done it ages ago really. Hopefully I don't need to buy another one unless I buy another Waterman fountain pen. Then I would not hesitate to replace cartridges.

This is an excellent standard converter. It allows you to fill your pen from a bottle of ink rather than using cartridges. For me this appears to give a better ink flow and allows me to write smoother for longer.Bottle of ink is only a couple of pounds but will last several years, much longer than if you spent the same amount of cash on cartridges. This standard converter and fix my water and pen perfectly, there is absolutely no leaks whatsoever.A Buy with confidence this is an excellent Standard converter for Waterman pens.

With the concern of throwaway plastic, a converter for your fountain pen is a much more eco-friendly way of inking it, and with a greater capacity of ink inside.Converters are easy to use - simply plug into your pen, dip the nib into the ink so it's completely submerged and twist the end to draw up ink. There will be an air gap left. Then gently tap off any excess ink and wipe your pen clean. Job done.Converters aren't cheap but they are long lasting and combined with a bottle of decent ink (e.g. the waterman, cross or Parker inks) are a cheaper and more eco-friendly way of using fountain pens in the long run than disposable cartridges.If you've got a waterman fountain pen and want to save on ink costs and reduce throwaway plastic, look no further.

I've bought several of these on line and they arrive in little plastic bags inside envelopes. On more than one occasion they have arrived broken. They need stiff packaging. I'll buy from a shop in future.
