Great shoes
Great comfortable and safe working shoes. Bought them for my husband to use as working shoes and he is very happy with them. They look great are light weight and waterproofwork and a also slip resistante all that he needs.

Second pair…
My second pair so that’s a recommendation. First pair were nylon top and still available; this pair is faux-leather (plastic). The issue with these shoes is that if you have high arch, they are a struggle to get your feet in. You need to loosen laces, stretch and probably use a shoe horn as the heel grip is quite tight. Once your feet are inside, the shoes are very comfortable. My first pair after miles of field and track walking are nearing their end (although Gorilla glue has helped lengthen their stay!)However, the second pair are receiving complaints about mud. The tread is deeper than the first pair and holds mud which when dry falls off in characteristic patterned clumps (so I can’t blame the dog). No other boot or walking shoe in decades of walking sheds mud like these. Hose soles before putting away.

Looks nice but …
The price was ok but the fit was disappointing. Despite being extra wide I found them surprisingly uncomfortable both at the front and under my sole so unable to use them for casual wear and walks . Hopefully I’ll find them a bit easier in time but right now my feet are not very happy!Update 25 March - My feet remain the same but I have to really commend Fitville Customer Services’ efforts in addressing my concerns in a variety of ways so cannot fault them on that count. As a result I have added another star to my rating which I feel is justified.

So very impressed with their comfort and fitting. Excellent value for money.
I have bought several pair s of footwear from Fitville, all of them meeting my expectations of comfort, durability and fitting. The fitting is especially important for me, needing extra wide and 9.5 UK in size. I did remove the internal fitted insole, the podiatrist I see makes my custom orthotics and they fit a treat. The podiatrist also remarking how good and supportive these hiking shoes seem to be.Well, I have worn them every single day for several months now. They appear to be as good as the day they were bought. No, I do not go hiking, but my feet have remained dry if they have been wet.The grips are great and, after several months of use they show little sign of wear.Fitville have been excellent in the past at offering support. Please see my photos.I absolutely do recommend these for every day use and I would not hesitate to buy again from this company.I do hope that this review has helped you.EDIT: Just to add after further wearing of these, daily, I have now worn them several times in light rain BUT also where the terrain is wet. What I mean it wet grass that leaves the trainers wet all over. However, my feet have been kept dry on each occasion. These trainers, for comfort and durability, continue to impress me.

How wide is wide?
I've superimposed a trace round the new FitVille shoes (8.5 UK) over my old boots. Any improvement in width is not obvious. They go on more easily and feel more comfortable. Only a few months of actual walking is going to settle it. My toes were getting wrecked on thirty mile walks, and I really hope the FitVille shoes have more room for them. Fingers (toes?) crossed 🤞I'm also hoping the tread on the FitVilles lasts for longer than the 150 miles I got before parts wore away completely.Curiously, the RH FitVille arrived with the lace ends emerging inside the shoe 🤨I re-threaded it. There are no eyelets around the laces, so tightening them is a little harder. The ones supplied are the simple, thin, flat variety. I may get some heavy duty replacements.Edit April '25.OK, I think I have now figured out how these shoes are 'wider'. The soles (as noted) were about the same dimensions as a standard shoe. What you get more of is the material for the uppers. This helps because, whereas the soles don't stretch, the uppers can flex around wide feet. The shoes also came with insoles that help raise the foot up from the outsoles.Unfortunately, that did not prove quite enough for me. I decided, in the end, that what I needed was simply a larger, normal type shoe size (UK 9 rather than 8.5). That made all the difference and, using them, I can resume my 40/50 mile walks.
