Meter specific
Make sure you have the AlphaTrak Meter; and if you do, unfortunately these are the only strips that will work in it (That I know of). Expensive, but my pups worth it.

Expensive but effective
These strips come in the kit and sync very well with the meterThey are incredibly expensive thoughBe sure to get enough blood drawn and into the tip of the test strip so that you don’t have to use a second one on the same testing

Easy and accurate
These are a huge improvement from the #2. Calibrating your meter is the best. Just stick it in and select dog or cat code. It sucks the blood inside the tip and I get a reading about 99% of the time. The 1 percent error is usually because I didn’t get enough blood and I knew it might error out… sometimes it’s hard to get blood from my baby girls ear and I feel bad pricking her so many times and rush the process with a too tiny drop of blood. Don’t get me wrong, you don’t need a lot of blood, or any more then you did with the alphatrak 2. I can also rely on the readings better than the older model.

I will keep buying these as long as I need them
I really appreciate this product as it helps me keep my pup monitored. I would have given 5 stars, however, the price is EXTREMELY high when compared to the human counterparts. I understand that there is definitely less need in the pet market than the human market, but it is such a big difference in price that I cannot ignore it as a negative.Additionally there is so much variability between packs; it hasn't been dangerous for me because I am able to stay home with my pet all day and monitor his behavior. But every time I switch to a new box of strips I end up wasting 2, plus my control (so 3 total) - I have to take his sugar with the old pack, then do the control with the new pack, and then take his sugar again with the new pack so I know how much the new pack is going to be off compared to the last one. It's usually around a 20-30 point difference, but I have gotten packs where it's closer to 50-60 points difference. They are made with a thick plastic - when compared to the human version, they seem more durable/less likely to bend or fail at insertion to the meter. In my experience, not too much blood is required, and the only times I have had errors on the meter it's because I did not wait for the meter to go through it's startup checks or because I didn't have it inserted fully before it tried to read and the meter got upset. I have ordered these strips for the last 3 years or so I believe and don't believe I have ever gotten a pack that failed in a way that was not due to user error; maybe up to 5 individual strips (out of all the purchases) that read WAY OFF and I had to retest, but definitely not a common issue for me.I really do like them, and they are invaluable to me, there is just a little room for improvement in the product for sure.

Reliable Glucose Test Strips for My Cat's AlphaTrak 3
These blood glucose test strips worked perfectly with my AlphaTrak 3 meter for monitoring my cat's diabetes. They’re accurate, easy to use, and give quick results. Great value and peace of mind knowing I can track his levels reliably at home. Highly recommend for pet owners managing diabetes!

Its the only one that works to test cat blood sugar
We have two diabetic cats that need to be tested regularly. We tried a freestyle but the cat pulled it off in 3 days, so this is the only way to go. My vet uses this brand so I do too. I had a Pet Buddy, but they were discontinued and I couldn't get the test strips anymore so that was a waste. This is made by Zeotis and should be accurate and have a long life. We've been using ours for over a year and are pleased with the readings and customer service.

Pricey and buggy at times
I didn't have a choice but to switch to the AlphaTrak 3 because they phased out the AlphaTrak 2. These strips are faulty half of the time, and I've had to waste so many of them just to retest when I get a questionable reading. (I'm very familiar with BG checks)They are very pricey, considering you have to use them daily sometimes. Which I think is unethical when diabetes is very expensive to maintain as it is.There's a learning curve with the monitor itself as well, and it does not always cooperate. I seem to have a good batch this time, but I have received bottles that have more faulty strips then good ones. It's just hit or miss... Which makes the cost for only 50 strips seem ridiculous. That being said, I need these strips to monitor my cat for peace of mind and her well being, and it is convenient to test at home vs going to a vet for curves. I just hope the cost will come down eventually.
